Letter written in ink on one folded sheet, dated 7 October 1911, from Alberta Victoria Sarah Caroline Windsor-Clive, Countess of Plymouth, to Hugh Allan Pettigrew. She is writing from Newnham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire in response to a letter sent by Hugh. Her letter relates to matters at the Plymouth family home at St Fagans Castle and advises Hugh on the position of a stone path on the top terrace in the gardens. She also gives instructions on the planting of associated trees, and promises to make a drawing of some arbors for installation in the gardens. Freia and Shui [pet dogs] are mentioned and she comments on Lady Paget's satisfaction with the strawberries. Finally she asks after the health of Mrs [Alice Southwell] Pettigrew and the children.
