Letter from Phyllis Windsor-Clive to Andrew Alexander Pettigrew, 24th January 1917

Letter written in pen and ink on two sheets (one folded) of paper, dated 24th January 1917, from Lady Phyllis Windsor-Clive, to Andrew Alexander Pettigrew. She is writing from Hewell Grange, Redditch, on behalf of her grandmother Countess Walburga Ehrengarde Helena Paget, to ask if Andrew Alexander Pettigrew and his brother Hugh Allan Pettigrew could communicate any reminiscences that they might have about her grandsons Other Robert Windsor-Clive (died of fever in India in 1908), Archer Windsor-Clive (killed in action during WW1, France, 1914), and Ivor Miles Windsor-Clive. This was to facilitate a memoir that the Countess (their grandmother), was preparing. Lady Phyllis enquires on the whereabouts of Hugh Allan Pettigrew and after the health of his wife Alice Southwell Pettigrew. She comments on the dreadful weather and hopes the war will end soon.
