Letter from Alberta Victoria Sarah Caroline Windsor-Clive to Hugh Allan Pettigrew, 27 March 1909

54, Mount Street
W [London]

March 27

Pettigrew Thank you for the photographs. I think No. 4 is very good only could you try doing it on glazed paper. I think it would come out even clearer. I should like 6 unmounted & 6 mounted-but

[sheet 1, page 2]

would you mount them with hardly any white showing like the original one I sent. 7 1 2 3 8 are not really good. I see that taking out the other head makes the [dairy?] come out of drawing. You might try doing one print

[sheet 1, page 3]

it's own size leaving in both heads. 6 & 5 are good but I prefer the original size. 9 is good but I think the first one of those you sent me was the best.

Then as to those of Ld. Windsor on horseback I'm afraid the face is too faint & it is also too much

[sheet 1, page 4]

retouched to be of much use. I am sending those back. Could you do some original size & not trying to get the face too light. I hope the dogs are well. I shall try & come to St Fagans for a day on my way to Hewell & I expect we shall come there for a little bit before the young gentlemen go back

[sheet 1, page 1 (sideways)]

faithfully
