Letter from Alberta Victoria Sarah Caroline Windsor-Clive to Andrew Alexander Pettigrew, 18 June 1918

Hewell [Grange] June 18.18

Pettigrew, The Tardebigge Womens Institute have asked me to write & ask you if you would, if you can spare the time, come & give them an address or lecture on the Local History of this part of the County. They hold monthly meetings on the last Monday in each month & they hope you would consent to do this at their November meeting which would be the 25th of that month.

The Institute was formed about 18 months ago & has had about 80 members . Their chief work is to help in food production etc & in most things that want doing in the district - but the object of these Institutes is also to try & get more interest into[?] rural life & we have had some very interesting addresses on different subjects since it started. The Committee suggested your name themselves & it was the unanimous wish that you should be asked to address them. It will give great pleasure to us all if you can come. Graham has often spoken to them on gardening topics. We hope to come to St. Fagans for two months at the beginning of July so I will hope to see you. I
