Biographical notes

The reference in the BMD indexes is under Cardall, Rosina. However, Shoreditch corresponds with the BMD Marriage index entry for George Cardell and Mary Ann Brook and in the 1851 Census she is living with the rest of the family in Shoreditch. On Rosina's birth certificate and on the 1851 Census return, George Cardell has the distinctive occupation of Cheesmonger.

In the 1861 Census, Rosina Cardall [sic], born in Shoreditch, is working as a Servant, aged 14, at an address in West Hackney, Middlesex, whilst the rest of the family had moved from London to Bristol.
