Mary Mansell Mansell or Manson? Need to check this!! At 1851 Census, Mrs Johnston was 26yrs & born Edinburgh. Her death Certificate has Maidenname MANSON,whereas the Death Certificate of son, Hugh Johnstone, names her as Maiden name MANSELL. The Mary Manson that Ive entered, dtr of Robert Manson & Mary Todd, is the ONLY entry that Ive so far found that could possibly fit. b11/07/1824

Son Hugh Johnstone b 18/3/1848 - d 1918 Railway Station Master. 1861 Census: Lodging at Content Street,Ayr, with Aunt Sarah & Uncle Archibald Pettigrew. Father, Hugh, died in 1858 (Altho his mother didnt die until 1874). Census Record says born Hamilton, but think that was his mother. Hher death record in Glasgow very sparse with details. Married Barbara Highet from Stewarton on Christmas Day 1878. Buried in Kilmaurs cemetery Living at 11 Main st Kilmaurs at time of death
