Biographical notes

Maiden name deduced from birth certificate of daughter Sarah Ann. Known only from records after her marriage (Census records and BMD record of death). Census returns for 1851 and 1861 give place of birth as Bristol. 1871 return (when she was widowed) gives place of birth as Bath.
