Biographical notes

Maiden name from BMD register for her marriage to Abraham Long in 1847. Probably recorded in 1841 Census living in Llandaff; Ann Barton, 15, F[emale] S[ervant] y [born in census county, Glamorgan]. After her marriage to Abraham Long in 1847, she can be traced in all Census returns to 1911. Census records consistently cite her birthplace as St Fagan's. Need to search for her christening record in the St Fagan's Parish Registers (not available on-line as of August 2009).

However, careful searching of the 1841 Census records for St Fagans show one Barton family (parents John and Susan) who are almost certainly Anne's, as Barton is an unusual name in Wales.

Not traced after the 1891 Census and death of her husband in 1898. Most likely BMD entry is last quarter of 1899 in Cardiff. Recorded age at death was 75 (indicating a birth year of 1824. Registered as Ann Langdon.
