Biographical notesTheir first child was apparently born to Jane Taylor out of wedlock in 1868. After their marriage, records have been found for two other children before James' apparent suicide whilst living in Glasgow. The last child was born after his death. Jane never re-married and died in 1925. In the 1871 Census Jane is living with her parents in Cross Street Ayr whilst James is recorded as lodging in 28 Scotland Street Tradeson, age 26, with the profession of Carter. |
