Biographical notes

Elizabeth was born to Jane Taylor out of wedlock but the father was almost certainly James Pettigrew who Jane married in 1869. In the 1881 Census Elizabeth is listed as Niece, age 14, born Ayr, Ayrshire, living at 1 Hope street in Ayr with her uncle Samuel Taylor and his wife Catherine.

Elizabeth married Kennedy Rennie on the 15.9.1892 in Ayr
