Married Caroline Wensley in 1855 (registered in Taunton).

Family recorded in 1861 Census, living in Taunton. In 1871 Census in Gloucestershire (Caroline b.1833). In 1881 Census, family living at 6, Easton Place, Bristol St Philip and Jacob Out, Gloucestershire. Daniel Dawe (Head, aged 52, born Taunton, Occupation Mason,) Caroline Dawe (Wife, aged 48, born Taunton), Elizabeth Dawe (Daughter, aged 25, born Taunton, Occupation Dressmaker).

Caroline living on her own as a boarder in the 1891 Census, suggesting that she has been widowed. Death of a Daniel Dawe in the BMD Registers for Barton Regis (Bristol) in 1887, aged 57
